Chile and South Africa have concluded an agreement on cooperation in fisheries and aquaculture. This is reported by Cronica Digital, a partner of TV BRICS. The signing of the document was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister of Chile Gloria de la Fuente, who was on a visit to South Africa, and Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment of South Africa Narend Singh.
The joint action is expected to enable the two countries to share research results and experiences in the conservation, management and sustainable use of marine resources. A joint technical committee was also planned.
It is noted that cooperation in this area will contribute to the achievement of one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals aimed at the conservation and sustainable use of resources of the oceans and seas.
