The 10th meeting of the Working Group on Modernization and Industrial Cooperation under the Russian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation was successfully held today in Moscow. The high-level meeting brought together key stakeholders from both nations, reinforcing their commitment to deepening collaboration across various industrial sectors.
The meeting was co-chaired by A.V. Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and A.S. Bhatia, Head of the Department of Industrial Development and Domestic Trade under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India. Discussions covered pivotal areas such as mining, metallurgy, chemical industries, transport engineering, and digital technologies, focusing on modernizing these sectors to align with future global challenges.
Deputy Minister A.V. Gruzdev highlighted the significance of ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral industrial cooperation, noting that both nations stand to benefit immensely from sharing technological expertise and boosting industrial output. He further extended an invitation to Indian partners to participate in two major upcoming events:
1. Bilateral Business Forum in Mumbai, scheduled for November 2024, which aims to strengthen trade ties and explore new avenues of cooperation.
2. INNOPROM International Industrial Exhibition in Yekaterinburg in July 2025, an event that will showcase innovations in industry and technology from both Russia and India.
The meeting underscored the mutual interest of Russia and India in fostering industrial innovation and creating opportunities for sustainable economic growth. Both sides reaffirmed their dedication to working closely in critical sectors to promote technological advancements, sustainable practices, and enhanced market access.
