Today, representatives of Tver State University, together with the delegation of the organizers of the Tver stage of the international and interregional socio-cultural program “BRICS Peoples Choose Life” and Tver schoolchildren, laid flowers at the monument to Afanasy Nikitin.

The delegation included the President of the Regional Public Organization “BRICS. World of Traditions”, head of the program “BRICS Peoples Choose Life” L.L. Sekacheva, coordinator for international cooperation of the Regional Public Organization “BRICS. World of Traditions”, employee of the IMI MGIMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia D.M. Kurbatov, coordinator of the association “Compatriots of India in Russia” Nair Devadatkhan, general partner of the business stage of the Tver program, President of the International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation (IYES Foundation), Co-Founder of the company LLC “Smart World Services” Akil Mohammad. The delegation was accompanied by the Vice-Rector for General Affairs of Tver State University E.N. Vasilyeva and Head of the Public Relations Department L.Yu. Chuneva.

Lyudmila Leonidovna Sekacheva talked with students of Tver schools, talked about Afanasy Nikitin, the significance and scale of his personality in India. At the end, all meeting participants honored the memory of the great Russian traveler with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the monument.
