Saudi Arabia joins alliance to fortify humanitarian law

Jalal Al-Owaisi, the Сhairman of the Standing Committee of International Humanitarian Law was received by Faisal bin Farhan, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh. This was reported by Arab News.

 

The authorities spoke about collaboration in the area of international humanitarian law during the reception. The topic of bolstering international solidarity to support global efforts to guarantee security and human rights was also covered during the meeting.

 

A memorandum of understanding on strengthening collaborative work in the area of international humanitarian law was later signed by the committee and the Foreign Ministry.

 

Jalal Al-Owaisi, the committee Chairman, and Waleed El-Khereiji, the Kingdom’s Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister, signed a document.

 

According to the source, the agreement seeks to promote cooperative efforts, foster experience sharing in the area of international humanitarian law, and spread awareness of its culture.
