Iran’s non-oil exports to India surge to US$1.4 billion

Iran’s non-oil exports to India have reached a significant milestone, with a total value of US$1.4 billion recorded during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (20 March 2024 – 21 December 2024), according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Foroud Asgari, head of IRICA, announced that this export volume places India as Iran’s seventh-largest export destination during this period, underscoring the strengthening trade relationship between the two nations. This is reported by the Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.

Simultaneously, India has also maintained its position as a key source of imports for Iran, with commodities valued at US$1.1 billion entering the Iranian market, positioning India as Iran’s fifth top source of imports for the same nine-month timeframe.

This trading activity follows a performance in the previous Iranian calendar year, where Iran’s exports to India reached US$2.217 billion, representing a two per cent increase compared to the US$2.175 billion recorded the year prior.

These figures reflect a sustained growth in bilateral trade, the source claims.
