Russian House in New Delhi Expands Educational Cooperation with International School “Sancta Maria”

Representatives of the Russian House in New Delhi recently visited the International School “Sancta Maria” in Faridabad, marking a significant milestone in their year-long partnership. This collaboration, aimed at promoting Russian language and culture among Indian students, has already shown promising results.

As part of the ongoing cooperation, students from the school were invited to a special screening of the beloved Russian film Cheburashka at the Russian Cultural Centre. The students were captivated by the film, which provided a window into Russian storytelling and cinematic tradition. This cultural experience is just one of the many initiatives that highlight the strengthening ties between the Russian House and educational institutions in India.

During the visit, Russian House representatives, along with Russian language teacher Natalia
Marochkina, attended a Russian language lesson. Ms. Marochkina, a Russian compatriot and expert in language education, has been guiding the students since they began learning Russian in July. Despite the short duration, the students have made remarkable progress. They can now pronounce basic phrases and engage in simple conversations in Russian, demonstrating the effectiveness of this educational exchange.

The lesson also included an introduction to the works of famed Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, sparking further interest in Russian literature and culture among the students. The enthusiasm displayed by Indian schoolchildren towards the Russian language reflects the potential for deepening cultural understanding between the two nations. The Russian House in New Delhi has established similar collaborations with several other schools across India. Future plans include expanding this initiative, with a focus on further integrating Russian language courses and cultural activities in schools throughout the country.
