UAE launches the National Green Certificates Programme

In order to encourage green construction practices in accordance with the goals of the National Demand-side Management Programme and the National Green Building Regulation, the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has developed the National Green Certificates Programme.

Specific building classification standards for indoor air quality, water management, energy efficiency, and the use of green building materials are established by the National Programme. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure will offer participating businesses technical assistance and guidance to guarantee the highest degree of sustainability.

According to experts, the initiative is consistent with the UAE’s efforts to include decarbonisation and environmental sustainability in the building industry. It will assist in lowering the sector’s carbon footprint and energy and water use. Through achieving this goal, the UAE will be able to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 and establish infrastructure that will support ongoing growth.
