The Embassy of India in Cairo recently organised a tree-planting drive to mark World Environment Day to raise awareness and encourage environmental action.
The initiative is part of the global “EkPedmaakenaam” campaign launched by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which encourages people to contribute towards a more sustainable planet. Indian Ambassador to Egypt Ajit Gupte called on all participants to take part in the tree-planting event as a sign of respect for the Earth, and emphasised the importance of collective action to start an “environmental revolution”. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
Ambassador Gupte emphasised the potential impact of individual and community efforts to address global climate challenges and stressed that if everyone joins the initiative, an environmental revolution can be ignited.
