Saudi Libraries Commission expands network of Culture Houses

The Saudi Libraries Commission has opened a Culture House in the province of Ahad Rafidah, Asir region. The building of the local public library was renovated to launch the project. This is reported by Arab News.

 

The House of Culture is designed to meet the needs of visitors. The creators of the project have thought of the architectural design and the annual schedule of events for this purpose, said Abdulrahman Al-Asim, director general of the commission.

 

He added that every Culture House in the Kingdom has a clear sustainability plan and offers cultural activities for all groups, including children and teenagers.

 

The building includes learning spaces, a children’s theatre, a main theatre and a library with designated reading areas. It also includes spaces for innovation and technology. The institution has various facilities such as prayer rooms for men and women, conference rooms, a printing and computer centre, a cafe and a shop.
