A New Development Bank (BRICS Bank), will help rebuild the economy and infrastructure of municipalities and companies affected by floods in Rio Grande do Sul. This is reported by Toda Palavra, a partner of TV BRICS.
“President Dilma Rousseff just called me. From Shanghai, she is monitoring the situation in Rio Grande do Sul, in the state of Poa, where she lives. She told me that the BRICS bank will help rebuild the economy, the infrastructure of municipalities and companies,” the official Miguel Rossetto said.
According to Rossetto, the announcement of the disbursement of funds by the president of the BRICS bank should be made “soon”.
The death toll from the floods has risen to 116. This is according to the latest figures from the Civil Defence of Rio Grande do Sul.
According to the bulletin, 756 people were injured and 143 were missing. The number of homeless people rose to 408,100. A total of 70,772 people have found shelter, with another 337,346 living with friends or relatives, according to the agency.
