1 683 Zimbabwean women attended short courses at the Zimbabwe Open University under the auspices of the Angel of Hope Foundation. The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa for giving them the opportunity.
“I started my studies last year when short courses were just introduced in Matebeleland North. <…> I took a course in nursing care and also learnt about information technology. Due to these courses, I will be able to benefit my community,” said Elizabeth Siziba, a participant of the programme. This is reported by New Ziana. Zimbabwe Open University Vice Chancellor Paul Henry Gundani congratulated the programme participants:
“The skills learnt at these courses will help you throughout your life. I guarantee you that these courses will definitely change your life,” Gundani said.
In 2018, the First Lady of Zimbabwe founded the Angel of Hope Charitable Foundation, which raises funds to rebuild hospitals, helps with employment for disadvantaged citizens, develops secondary education, oversees orphanages and orphanages, and advocates for women’s and racial equality.
