Iran and Russia established a healthcare cooperation bureau to advance medical education and research

Iran and Russia have established a dedicated cooperation bureau to facilitate the implementation of educational, academic, and research agreements within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations. This is reported by Pars Today, a partner of TV BRICS.

Mohammad Hossein Niknam, Special Assistant to the Minister and Director General for International Cooperation at Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education, announced the formation of the bureau during the inaugural session of the Iran-Russia Cooperation Table. The meeting focused on developing practical solutions for implementing agreements related to medical education, academic initiatives, and healthcare research.

Among the key proposals discussed were the creation of a permanent joint committee to oversee bilateral projects, the establishment of an academic network to connect institutions in both countries and the organisation of a high-level meeting of university rectors from leading medical institutions.

Additionally, discussions included plans to facilitate opportunities for Russian students to pursue medical education at Iranian universities, further deepening academic exchange between the two nations.

The initiative marks a new phase in Iran-Russia cooperation, the source claims.
