The international initiative Mission Dobro has launched in India with a commitment to enhance veterinary care for homeless animals and foster collaboration between Russian and Indian animal welfare professionals. As part of this humanitarian effort, Russian volunteer veterinarians are visiting multiple animal shelters, including Paws Pet Boarding, Nandi Seva Trust, and SPCA Noida, where they are assessing the health and medical histories of shelter animals and crafting care plans to address their needs.
This programme, spearheaded by Rossotrudnichestvo in partnership with the Association of Volunteer Centers and the Traces of Man Foundation, aims to establish stronger veterinary practices in India through a two-week exchange of knowledge and skills. Volunteer veterinarians from Russia will conduct training sessions on advanced diagnostic techniques and modern treatments, ensuring that local specialists gain valuable insights into international best practices in animal healthcare.
The initial day of Mission Dobro involved a thorough examination of the animals in participating shelters, where veterinarians gathered detailed medical histories and identified critical areas of support. Over the coming days, they will continue to work closely with Indian specialists, building a foundation for sustainable improvements in animal welfare. “Through Mission Dobro, we hope to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in India while promoting cross-cultural learning,” “We are excited to share knowledge that will not only benefit these shelters but will strengthen veterinary practices in both countries.”
Each day, Mission Dobro will share updates, photos, and videos of the program’s progress on social media platforms, capturing the collaborative spirit and impactful moments between the international volunteers and the local teams.
