The Brazilian government plans to launch a national plan for artificial intelligence (AI) development. The text of the relevant document will be published during the opening of the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology, and Innovation. This is reported by Metropoles, a partner of TV BRICS.
The Brazilian Plan for the Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies (PBIA) was prepared by the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development. In March 2024, the country’s president, Lula da Silva, called for proposals to create an AI strategy.
For the past four months, a working group has been working on the draft document. The process involves federal government agencies, technology organisations, and public and private institutions.
