The UAE has been ranked as a leader in digital government, according to the UN’s 2024 E-Government Survey. According to the report, the UAE topped the world’s UN Telecommunication Infrastructure Index (TII) with a maximum score of 100 per cent. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS. The same report noted that the UAE climbed 34 points on the Human Capital Index (HCI), moving from 44th to 10th place and leading Asia and the Arab world.
This demonstrates the UAE’s significant efforts to enhance the skills of its citizens and ensure they are prepared to successfully navigate the digital world. The report also noted that the Emirates received a full score on the world’s first full score on content delivery standards and institutional structure, which are sub-indices of the Online Services Index (OSI).
The UAE’s achievements in digital government are the result of investments in the telecoms sector and the upgrading of the skills of government personnel.
