At the WorldFood Moscow 2024 International Fair, a company from Ecuador received a certificate for the production of organic bananas for the Russian market. TV BRICS International Media Network is an international information partner of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organisation “Russian Quality System” (Roskachestvo). This is the first time that bananas grown abroad have passed the strict two-stage Roskachestvo organic certification. The process involved a documentary check and an expert production audit, including sampling and laboratory tests.
“This is a significant event, as it allows us to expand the organic product range on the shelves of Russian retail chains and provide customers with a quality guarantee and compliance to all necessary standards,” said Alexander Chumak, deputy head of Roskachestvo.
Obtaining a certificate means that the producer meets all the requirements for organic production in Russia. Only certified products can be labelled with a special state sample, which guarantees buyers its naturalness and quality. Now buyers will be able to find organic bananas from Ecuador with a Russian certificate on shop shelves, which will provide them with confidence in the quality and safety of the products. On 16 May 2024, at the XV International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum 2024,” Janna Tolstikova, CEO of TV BRICS, and Maksim Protasov, Head of Roskachestvo, signed a cooperation agreement.
