Udmurtia Successfully Exports Over 400 Cubic Meters of Timber to India in 2024

Udmurtia has achieved a significant milestone in international trade, exporting over 400 cubic meters of timber to India since the beginning of 2024. This marked increase in exports is particularly noteworthy as there were no timber deliveries to India from Udmurtia during the same period in 2023. This development underscores the growing trade relations between the region and India.

The Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Kirov Region, Udmurt Republic, and Perm Territory has confirmed that Udmurtia exported a total of 402 cubic meters of forest products to India in the first eight months of 2024. The most substantial shipment occurred in August, comprising 300 cubic meters of timber.

Crucially, the timber passed rigorous laboratory testing, which confirmed the absence of any quarantine pests. Furthermore, the products met all phytosanitary requirements stipulated by India, ensuring the quality and safety of the timber for its end use.

This successful export effort highlights Udmurtia’s growing capability in meeting international trade standards and its potential to become a key player in the global timber market. It also reflects the strengthening of economic ties between Russia and India, fostering increased cooperation and mutual benefit.
