Brazil’s National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) disbursements are expected to increase by 22 per cent in the first quarter of 2024, analysts said.
BNDES recorded a 68 per cent increase in requests from firms for additional funding. This trend suggests future investment inflows in various areas of the economy, signalling a more dynamic business environment. Meanwhile, BNDES loan approvals were up 91 per cent compared to the same period last year. This demonstrates the bank’s willingness to support business projects and stimulate the country’s economic development. This is reported by Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.
BNDES President Aloizio Mercadante is optimistic about the first quarter results. In his view, these are the best three months for loan approvals since 2015 and repayment volume since 2016.
