In a gesture of solidarity and support, the delegation of compatriots from India participating in the VIII World Congress of Compatriots has presented a significant contribution of 10 kg of premium Indian tea from the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in New Delhi. This generous donation is part of a larger initiative to compile a New Year’s gift for Russian soldiers serving in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone.
The Congress, currently taking place in Moscow, has gathered over 400 representatives from Russian communities and indigenous peoples’ associations from nearly 100 countries. Notable figures at the meeting include the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ Kirill, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, and Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko. The Indian delegation is led by Elena Barman, who expressed pride in contributing to the morale of the soldiers during this festive season.
“This tea, representative of India’s rich culture and heritage, embodies our shared commitment to supporting our compatriots in their time of need. It is our hope that this small gesture brings comfort and joy to those serving on the frontlines,” Barman stated.
The initiative is part of a collaborative effort by various representative offices, which are collectively gathering essential supplies and gifts for soldiers. The contributions from Indian compatriots reflect the spirit of unity and cooperation that transcends borders.
