Vladimir Putin and the UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks in Moscow. This is reported by the official website of the Russian President.
Vladimir Putin emphasised that cooperation between Moscow and Abu Dhabi is actively developing on a range of issues. “This is industry, energy, infrastructure, transport and, of course, international affairs, where our interaction is very important not only for regional issues, but also for stories of a global nature”

The Russian President reminded that the states work together in international platforms, including BRICS and the UN. According to Putin, trade turnover between Russia and the UAE has tripled in recent years. He added that the two governments will work to maintain this momentum.
For his part, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan noted the high level of ties between Russia and the UAE, both at the state level and in personal contacts between the leaders.

In addition, he said that since 2018, non-oil trade between the two countries has increased from US$2.5 billion, to more than US$11 billion in 2023. Moreover, the UAE is working on a comprehensive co-operation agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union.
Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also emphasised Russia’s role in the development of the UAE’s space industry. In particular, the first Emirati cosmonaut Hazza Al Mansouri, who visited the International Space Station, was trained in the Russian Feredation and was delivered to orbit aboard a Russian spacecraft. The UAE President also praised Russia’s chairmanship of BRICS and Moscow’s efforts to develop the group.
Earlier, the heads of state held an informal meeting at the Russian President’s residence in Novo-Ogaryovo near Moscow. They discussed the implementation of bilateral agreements. The UAE leader is expected to attend the BRICS summit in Kazan, which starts on 22 October.
