The Russian head of state emphasised that relations with the Islamic Republic are a priority for Russia. He also pointed to the growth of trade turnover between the two countries. In addition, Putin invited Pezeshkian to pay an official visit to the Russian Federation and reminded him that he was waiting for him at the BRICS summit in Kazan, where they are scheduled to meet bilaterally.
For his part, Pezeshkian expressed hope to conclude a strategic partnership agreement with Russia at the BRICS summit. This is reported by IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

Earlier President Vladimir Putin has approved the Foreign Ministry’s draft treaty on strategic partnership between Russia and Iran. In early October, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation Kazem Jalali informed that the document was ready for signing.
The international forum “Interconnection of Times and Civilisations – the Basis of Peace and Development” is being held in Ashgabat on October 11. It is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
