Abu Dhabi is witnessing rapid growth in the number of artificial intelligence (AI) companies. According to the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, more than 400 AI companies were registered in the emirate by the end of the second quarter of 2024.
The Chamber’s research shows that in the first half of 2024, on average, one new AI company opened every two days. This shows that AI is becoming one of the fastest-growing sectors in Abu Dhabi, reaffirming the emirate’s commitment to becoming a global centre for innovation and AI. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS. Around 90 new AI companies were established in the first six months of 2024, marking 41.3 per cent year-on-year growth in the sector. The majority of companies registered in the second quarter of 2024 are engaged in AI innovation, research, and consultancy, indicating a growing interest from both the government and private sector to develop technology and drive economic growth.
