The first Chinese freight train has left Iran for China, said Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesman for the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee. This was reported by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
Ebrahim Rezaei said that Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari presented a report on the development of transit routes and economic activities before the National Security Commission. In his report, Mehdi Safari emphasised that the construction of the transit route of the Aghband road bridge connecting Iran and Nakhchivan has already been launched.
At this stage, an eastern corridor has been established to link China with Europe, passing through Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Iran.
