The BRICS association represents the interests of major players in world trade beyond the unipolar approach, said Iran’s Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani. This is reported by IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

He added that the republic’s authorities pay special attention to multilateral international platforms for cooperation.

The association was founded in 2006 by Brazil, Russia, India, and China, with South Africa joining in 2011. On January 1, 2024, in addition to Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia joined the group.
