Kazan will host the 10th Ak Bars Bank Kazan Marathon on 11-12 May, which will gather a record 30,000 participants and about 15,000 fans. TV BRICS is the international media partner of the event.

The jubilee race will be rich in landmark events: for the third time Kazan will host the Russian Marathon Championship, which will be attended by the strongest representatives of this discipline. The Ak Bars Bank Kazan Marathon has joined the BRICS League and the Russian Marathon League, along with the Moscow Marathon and the White Nights St. Petersburg Marathon, which means that the event has reached an international level.

Runners from 13 countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates and others, are planning to take part in the Kazan event. The programme also includes the Parade of Nations, where more than 150 people will march through the Millennium Square with the flags of their countries, Russian regions and districts of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Marathon (42.2 km) and half-marathon (21.1 km) distances, as well as 10 and 3 km starts are available for athletes. In addition, a mass children’s race – TIMERKIDS – will be held on 10 May, and the country’s only race for babies who are still crawling – TIMERBABY – will also take place.

More than 50 support points will be organised along the route – the organisers plan to place special emphasis on the importance of developing a fan culture.
